One of the very first photographs of High Street in the early 1870s. The large 3 storey house on the left centre was the residence of Captain Daniel Scott who became the Deputy Harbour Master. This house was demolished in 1888 to make way for the Union Bank built in 1889. The house on the lower right was the police station of Fremantle which later moved to Henderson street in 1888 where the Police Station is today.
