Designed by Richard Jewell, the Lodge of St John No. 721 EC was the first Masonic hall in Western Australia.
The foundation stone was laid in Hay Street, Perth in 1866. The lodge was dedicated by the Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Frederick Palgrave Barlee (Colonial Secretary in Western Australia 1855 – 77) on 1 May 1867.
